Welcome to ThoroughBreed Studs ("ThoroughBreed", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ThoroughBreedStuds.com (the "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. About the Platform

ThoroughBreed is a subscription-based online directory that connects breeders and dog owners with responsible stud dog owners. ThoroughBreed is a connection platform only. We do not participate in breeding agreements, breeding contracts, stud fees, puppy sales, financial transactions between users, or breeding decisions.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated.

3. User Roles

• Visitors (Free): may search listings, view profiles and health/registration information, and contact stud owners through the messaging system. Visitors may not create or edit listings.
• Stud Owners (Paid Subscribers): may apply for membership, create a profile, create and manage stud listings, and upload health and registration documentation, subject to an active subscription.
• Administrators: review applications, verify documents, manage listings and users, and administer verification badges.

4. Applications & Listings

• All stud owners must complete an application before creating listings. Applications are typically reviewed within 24 hours.
• Listings and uploaded documents may be reviewed by our admin team before publication and for badge verification.
• You represent that all information you submit is truthful and accurate, and that you have the right to list the dog described.
• We reserve the right to approve, deny, edit, suspend, or remove any application or listing at our discretion.

5. Verification Badges

Verification badges (OFA Verified, Genetics Verified, Registration Verified, and Champion Bloodlines) are awarded only after supporting documentation has been submitted and reviewed by our admin team. Badges indicate that documentation was reviewed; they are not a guarantee of any health, genetic, registration, or breeding outcome. Registration is not required to participate on the Platform.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) through our third-party payment processor, Stripe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard.
• Failed payments may result in suspension of listings or account access until resolved.
• ThoroughBreed only processes subscription payments from stud owners. We do not process stud fees, breeding deposits, puppy deposits, puppy sales, or breeding contracts. All breeding-related agreements and payments occur directly between users.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, fraudulent, or unlawful content.
• List a dog you do not own or have authority to represent.
• Harass, abuse, spam, or defraud other users.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Platform.
• Use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable laws or animal welfare standards.

8. Messaging & Scam Prevention

Please exercise caution when communicating online. Before entering into any breeding agreement, we encourage you to verify health testing documentation, verify registration documentation, request references when appropriate, review any contracts carefully, and conduct your own due diligence. ThoroughBreed does not monitor private messages and does not guarantee any transaction or breeding arrangement.

9. Disclaimers

Information displayed on listings is provided by the stud owner. ThoroughBreed serves only as a connection platform and does not guarantee the accuracy of information, health outcomes, genetic outcomes, fertility outcomes, stud performance, breeding outcomes, contracts between users, or financial transactions between users. Users are solely responsible for verifying all information before entering into any agreement. The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThoroughBreed and its owners, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of your use of the Platform or any interaction, agreement, or transaction between users.

11. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, branding, and design are owned by ThoroughBreed or its licensors. Content you upload remains yours, but you grant us a license to display and use it to operate and promote the Platform.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time for violation of these Terms or for conduct that we determine to be harmful to other users or the Platform.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
